Richard Baker FCA, FPC

Richard trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Condy & Co and became a Partner in 1990. He specialises in owner-managed and family businesses, and has extensive experience in property development, nursing homes, professional practices and charities.
A keen supporter of Plymouth Argyle, Richard has also represented the Western Counties in both swimming and water polo.
Stephen Emery ACA

Stephen trained and qualified with Price Waterhouse in Southampton, and had spells in their Jersey and Cardiff offices before joining Mathias & Co in 1987.
Stephen’s vast experience means that he can look after a wide range of clients, from sole trader business to large companies. He heads up the Business Support team, providing accountancy software training and support, payroll and VAT services to clients.
Stephen is the Treasurer of a local association of a national charity, and has an intense interest in all matters relating to aviation.
John Hillier FCA, FPC

John trained with Mathias and Co in Tavistock and following a move to Condy & Co he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993. He became a partner in 1998 and heads up the Tavistock office.
John has considerable experience of the particular issues faced by owner managed businesses, particularly in the retail, manufacturing, construction, financial services and agricultural sectors.
John likes to keep fit by cycling and swimming with a local 'masters' club and enjoys reading, cooking and socialising with friends and family.
Kathy Martin CTA, ATT, MAAT
Tax Partner

Kathy joined Condy & Co in 1992 and soon after decided to specialise in tax. As well as passing the Association of Taxation Technicians examinations, she qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2001.
Kathy manages the firm’s tax department and specialises in trusts, capital tax planning and probate.
Kathy enjoys running, and often takes part in the annual Plymouth Race for Life with the other ladies in the Condy Mathias team.
John Fry FCA

After qualifying with Deloitte Plender Griffiths in 1967, John worked in the Montreal and various North American offices of Haskins & Sells. In 1971 he returned to his home town of Plymouth to become a Partner in Condy & Co.
John was instrumental in helping to set up the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth and was one of the original Trustees. Through this John gained extensive experience in obtaining grant funding and charity regulations. He also has significant expertise in the agricultural sector.
Outside interests include walking, observing and worrying about the natural environment. John is Honorary Treasurer of Devon Wildlife Trust, a past president of the Plymouth Proprietary Library and is a churchwarden of his local church.
